Planning a New In-Ground Pool? Here’s What to Expect from Day One

Deciding to build a new in-ground pool is a big move—and one that should feel exciting, not overwhelming. At our company, we specialize in crafting custom gunite pools, and we’re here to walk you through what the journey really looks like—starting from that first conversation.

1. The Initial Consultation

This is where it all begins. We sit down with you (virtually or in person) to understand your vision, your space, and your budget. Whether you’re imagining a sleek modern pool with built-in features or something more natural and freeform, this step sets the tone for the rest of the project.

2. Site Assessment and Design

Next, we visit your property to get a feel for the landscape. We’ll take measurements, assess elevation, and note any potential challenges. Then, we develop a design tailored specifically to your yard—complete with layout, shape, features, and finishes. You’ll see a visual representation of your future pool before we break ground.

3. Permits and Planning

Before construction begins, we handle the permitting process. We’re well-versed in local codes and requirements, so you don’t have to stress about the paperwork. Behind the scenes, we’re ordering materials and locking in the build schedule.

4. Excavation and Structure

Now the fun starts. We excavate the site and begin forming the shape of your new pool. With gunite construction, we spray a custom concrete mixture over a reinforced steel frame—creating a durable, long-lasting structure that can be shaped to fit almost any design.

5. Plumbing, Electrical & Tile Work

Once the structure is in place, we run the plumbing lines, install lighting, and begin setting tile. It’s during this phase that your pool starts looking more like the final product.

6. Finishing Touches

We apply the interior finish—plaster, pebble, or quartz depending on your choice—and then fill the pool with water. Add any final features like decking, landscaping, or water features, and you’re nearly there.

7. Orientation & First Swim

Once the pool is filled and ready, we take care of the full equipment setup—pumps, filters, heaters, and automation systems. We’ll walk you through how everything works, give you the basics on pool care, and make sure you feel confident running your new pool from day one.

Building a pool is more than just a construction project—it’s an investment in your home and lifestyle. We’re here to make it smooth, beautiful, and built to last.

If you’re ready to take the first step, reach out to schedule a free consultation—we’d love to hear about your vision.
